New Densely Quilled Color Blocks Reveal Powerful Portraits of Women by Yulia Brodskaya

It has been a while since Yulia Brodskaya's talents have graced the site and in that time she has kept busy making even more stunning quilled masterpieces that jump off of the canvas. In this particular portrait series, the focus is on various types of women, all visibly unique and powerful in their own right. In the process of refining her quilling skill set, she has created a style of quilling that mimics that of broad paint strokes. This method is achieved by packing densely folded color blocks of paper into the contours of the face and body. Each paper sculpture, whether vibrant color blocks, abstract braiding, or playing with different colors to show different textures and shading, sets her apart from other quilling artists, making each bold piece a truly fine work of art. Be sure to check out the video below!

We have all come to know and adore the quilled portraits from talented paper artist Yulia Brodskaya, which are absolutely stunning and immensely detailed. Brodskaya has achieved a truly unique style in her works that sets her apart from other quilling artists, making each bold piece a truly fine work of art. Her latests works incorporate a style she has developed that is almost like painting with paper. As you can see with Amethyst above and Jade and Topaz respectively below, the use of densely folded or rolled paper into color blocks, mimics the broad strokes of a paintbrush, following the curvature around the eyes and mouth as well as the finer details of their faces. Be sure to check out the video below of her process in creating Jade. All I have to say is... WOW!

New Quilled Paper Portrait from Yulia Brodskaya

The latest quilled portrait from talented paper artist Yulia Brodskaya. From her last piece Loves Doves to this piece, she has definitely changed the tone of colors to be less of a skin tone varient in terms of palette and more vibrant. This woman's face bursts with swirls of color as she smokes her pipe and seems to be a perfect blend into the start of Spring.
