Interview with UK Paper Artist Andy Singleton

Having been peppered throughout the site quite frequently featuring a wide range of projects from installations, to works with Hermés and even paper cut illustrations, Andy Singleton is no stranger to our site! Butterfly Sculptures Made From Recycled Paper

Rebecca J Coles is a paper artist based in the United Kingdom who creates three-dimensional sculptures from a hand drawn and cut assemblage of colorful butterflies from recycled paper. In her use of recycled paper, she is able to dissect small bits of color, imagery and text to form these silhouettes that are later reconstructed and later encased. These sculptures can be composed of anywhere from hundreds or even thousands of butterflies!

Ministry of Sound, Saturday Sessions Posters

Andrew Bradford is a graphic designer that has created a set of three posters to promote the Ministry of Sound Saturday Sessions. He has built them out of several colorful layers representing sound waves similar to David Benmussa’s Joy Division tribute.

Incredible Devices From Salvaged Paper by Jennifer Collier

Jennifer Collier is from Stafford, UK where she transforms our everyday interpretation of household items into lovely works of art from repurposed paper materials. She works with various types of paper which include maps, postcards, news clippings and the like and then by bonding, waxing, trapping and stitching she produces unusual paper ‘fabrics’, which are used to explore the ‘remaking’ of household objects.

Predictions by Helen Friel

Helen Friel is a freelance Paper Engineer and Illustrator, living and working in London. In 2009 Helen graduated from Central Saint Martin’s with a First in BA Graphic Design. Her work has been featured in Papercraft, Papercraft 2, Grafik, Design*Sponge Online and Aesthetica Magazine.
Predictions is a series of images exploring the art of hepatomancy – predicting the future by studying animal entrails – first practiced by the Babylonians over 4000 years ago. A personal project in collaboration with photographer Chris Turner. Continue reading

Going West – a stunning paper stop motion animation by Andersen M Studio

‘Going West’ — an animation by Andersen M Studio that inspires by it’s intricate and detailed hand-cut ‘pop-up’ scenery springing up from the pages and thoughtfully brought to life by stop motion animation. Commissioned by Colenso BBDO for the New Zealand Book Council, the two-minute film features an excerpt from Maurice Gee‘s classic New Zealand novel Going West.
