Snake-like Paper Sculpture Made From Thousands Of Lips

You may remember the Swarm Pinned Skin Collage by David Adey comprised of thousands of clippings of various complexions from fashion magazines. In this series entitled 22 Footer, David has used thousands of different color lips instead. The different sizes of the lips add to the definition of this snake-like figure as the swirls, twists and turns make their way down. The lips have been cut from fashion magazines and pinned to a foam panel measuring 27 x 46 inches.

Large Scale Architectural Collages by Anastasia Savinova

Anastasia Savinova is a russian-born visual artist currently living and working in Sweden whose background in architectural studies has led her to create these intriguing large scale collages. Each collage is comprised of layer upon layer of photographs shot in various European capitals. The series is titled "Genius Loci", which according to the Romans was a protective spirit of a dwelling, takes on a more contemporary meaning which refers to a location's distinctive atmosphere. Savinovas's crisply composed collages are more than a medium of contrasting doors, windows, and roof lines, they explore the structure of life in their connection with the land and the spirit of the place.

Auckland-based artist Peter Madden creates sculptural installations from cut-out books, magazines and encyclopedias. Each slice is a representation of a fantastical construction once reassembled. Although Madden works from second-hand imagery, he often uses photography as a metaphor when discussing his practice.

Extremetly Intricate Shredded Poetry Portraits

We have showcased a fair amount of different styles of portraits sprinkled throughout the site, each being unique in their own techniques and execution. Some of which included the amazing collaged works of Nikki Douthwaite and Senseteam.

UK-based artist Jamie Poole has come to perfect a technique where he collages deconstructed poetry into beautifully intricate and astounding large scale portraits. The detailing in these pieces, from shading to depth, is just blowing my mind. The portrait above is his self portrait where he used loved letters written back and forth from him and his wife. AMAZING!
