Arthur by Paul Mullen
Paul Mullen is a design student from Aberdeen, Scotland who has a true passion for design, type and illustration. This character that he designed for one of his classes, Arthur, is inspired by the seagulls heard throughout Scotland. Paul pays very close attention to precision by way of paper engineering, building on his technical skills which clearly show in it’s vast detail. This piece took him approximately 3 weeks to complete and by far a lovely paper craft.

Christophe Guberan, a third-year Bachelor student of Industrial Design at ECAL/University of art and design Lausanne created Hydro-Fold, a project that experiments with self folding inkjet printed paper. “The idea is to give shape to paper through the simple use of water, adapting an existing printer to control the phenomenon. This experimental approach allowed me to explore new avenues of research,” explains Christophe Guberan. Indeed, this project is based on a totally new experimental process which, using a printer, a simple sheet of tracing paper and water, creates a transition from 2D to 3D, generating tiny volumes in just a few minutes.

Caine’s Cardboard Arcade
Caine is a 9 year old boy who built an elaborate cardboard arcade inside his dad’s used auto parts store. At first, business was slow—that is, until his first customer, filmmaker Nirvan Mullick, was inspired to organize a flashmob through Facebook and Reddit, sending a slew of worthy gamers upon Caine’s Arcade and capturing the magic day in a wonderful short film. Caine’s inventive spirit and his simple and creative cardboard Arcades are truly inspiring. We hope you enjoy the short film as much as we do!

Ministry of Sound, Saturday Sessions Posters
Andrew Bradford is a graphic designer that has created a set of three posters to promote the Ministry of Sound Saturday Sessions. He has built them out of several colorful layers representing sound waves similar to David Benmussa’s Joy Division tribute.

Money Portraits by Senseteam
Big Business 3 is a book and poster series by Chinese creative agency Senseteam. Very reminiscent to embroidered patchwork, this series cuts apart and reconfigures currencies from countries around the world in the hopes of examining identity and cultural desires that link wealth, branding, human expressions and ethnicities.

Swarm: Pinned Skin Collage by David Adey
David Adey is a master of taking something from our every day lives, fashion magazines, and transforming them into these incredibly detailed works of art. With this particular piece entitled “Swarm”, there is a whirlwind of different tones of skin pulled and cut from the very pages of magazines and pinned to form a literal swarm as if nature itself is erupting from the depths. Also very appropriate, since spring has approached us in this very manner. One can only imagine the extensive amount of hours placed in how meticulous it is. Interview with Paper Cut Artist Tahiti Pehrson
Our next talented paper artist comes from Northern California with a background in all things art where his whole family has a background in artistry. You may have seen his work before, but if you haven’t your in for a special treat. He creates these beautiful paper cut masterpieces that are so detailed I can’t even imagine how long they must have taken. His work pays homage to Guilloché patterns, which is a system used to produce a complex series of geometrical patterns which can be seen on currency throughout the world. I can only hope I have the pleasure of seeing these lovely pieces in person one day. Without further ado I present our awesome interview with paper artist Tahiti Pehrson!
