We have seen the beautiful works of Spanish artist Sonia Alins previously, featuring several women with exaggerated proportions floating or even dancing under the transparent sheets of water. They stay afloat in this aquatic environment, with only some parts shown above the water level. Dones d’aigua II, a continuation of this previous series, showcases the subtle, delicate and ethereal idea of the mysterious aquatic environment where the figures emerge or not.
“There is a research about the idea of transparency and blur, establishing different levels of perception and bringing depth to the pieces, thanks to a planned and minimalist combination of materials. Thus emerges a suggestive conceptual work with a symbolic and surreal personality.”
