Colorful Layered Paper Cut Poster Depicting Ocean Pollution by Aline Houdé-Diebolt

Paris based visual artist and paper crafter Aline Houdé-Diebolt has produced this campaign focusing on a subject that is super sensitive to us all, our ecosystem, while in this particular instance the detriment of pollution to our oceans. She has chosen the material of paper because of its fragility, and similarly so, to the fragility of climate change. The paper illustration shows a ‘wheel of fortune’ completely from recycled papers. Her message recurrent and omnipresent key feature of tv games and lottery, where the players are able to win everything or lose everything while rolling the wheel.

This wheel is comprised of 3 distinct zones: The most colorful part refers to the most beautiful and healthy seabed. Next one tends to show our actual seabed. Pollution is clearly visible and the marine ecosystem is then weakened and tarnished. The last section shows the disaster we are going to face if we don’t change our mentality and actions. A decimated seabed caused by human pollution and a ravaged ecosystem. A marine dump.

This campaign aims to make people aware of the urgent situation we are into. Burying of heads in the sand must stop right now. Otherwise our oceans futur and then our planet futur will be decided without us… as a wheel spin!
